Having a healthy soil means having the physical, biological and chemical components all working together, resulting in effective nutrient cycling and water infiltration.
Topics covered include preparing and building a soil mix for containers, raised beds and improving your local soil. Building organic soils; soil additives; pH. Suitable depths, moisture and nutrient holding capacity.
The soil workshop will involve hands on in preparing and managing soil in raised beds.
NOTE: Participants will need to bring dust masks and gloves to be able to handle the soil ingredients.
